Details:

The Regnbue jacket is a super versatile cut with different variations. The name Regnbue comes from the Danish and means rainbow. Only when the sun is shining can you see a rainbow and what could be more beautiful than rays of sunshine. When my children saw the shape of the bag, they said: “oh mom, they are beautiful, they look like a rainbow”. At that moment it was clear that there could be no better name for the pattern.

When constructing the pattern, it was important to me that the jacket could be sewn only out of fullers despite having real pockets. Without any cuffs. This is possible with the rainbow yoke. You can read about the advantages of this on my blog wollwalk Part 1: Types, properties, washing, lining. The rainbow yoke can also be sewn and edged in a single layer. However, a normal pocket welt on the rainbow pocket is also possible. There are also two different patch pocket variations in the pattern.

The cut is loose, casual and has slightly dropped shoulders. This makes dressing even more comfortable, especially for babies. Regnbue can be sewn lined or unlined. You can choose between a zipper, a button placket or press studs. A pointed hood and a round hood as well as a three-piece round hood are included in the pattern.

We tested various types of fabric in the sample sewing. The pattern is designed for woolwalk, fleece, softshell, terry wool, waffle piqué and similar fabrics.Further details on fabric selection can be found in the eBook.

In the ebook you will find a precise measurement chart so that you can sew Regnbue to fit your child exactly. There are tips and tricks for sewing with wool and for working with wool braid. If you haven’t yet dared to try your hand at working with wool, you’ll find several blog posts on my blog about caring for and sewing with wool. All the variations listed are described and illustrated in detail:
